[POTTERY]. [BONAPARTE, Napoleon (1769-1821), subject]. Transfer-Decorated Pearlware Patch Box. [Ca. 1820s]. This magnificent pearlware patch box with lid and base is extensively illustrated in sepia on a white background. Approximately 4” in diameter at the base and 2 ?” high with the lid. On the lid, the Emperor is mounted and reviewing his troops while the base includes rural scenes of river fishing and gentlemen shooting game. The box and lid are raised on a pedestal base with decorative copper luster line rims. Fine and rare. See Christie’s sale 1527, lot 2213.
