Eleven Engraved Plates titled “Figures de Magie Blanche.” Paris, 1792. From Lacombe’s Amusemens des Sciences Mathematique et Physique. The engravings depict many classic magic tricks and props, including nailing a card to a wall, cups and balls, card sleights, rope tricks, and dozens more. 9 ½ x 12 ½”. Minor soiling and wear as expected.These plates were published in the work that is said to have inspired Robert-Houdin to become a conjurer instead of a clockmaker.
