Society of American Magicians Panoramic Convention Photograph. Detroit, 1932. Nearly six feet long, the image depicts attendees of the 1932 S.A.M. convention. At the center stands Harry Blackstone, Sr. Other prominent magicians pictured include T. Nelson Downs, Nate Leipzig, Paul LePaul, John Mulholland, Harlan Tarbell, Monk Watson, Al Munroe, Walter Domzalski, Robert Nelson, Nelmar, Sid Lorraine, Tom Bowyer, Elmer Eckam, Leo Rullman, L.L. Ireland, Eddie McGlaughlin, Boris Zola, and dozens more. Domzalski’s wife and daughter flank Blackstone. The verso includes the names of many of the individuals pictured, likely in Jay Marshall’s hand, inside inked silhouettes of the subjects. 8 x 53 ½”. Tiny tears in perimeter with a few faint creases, but very good condition overall. A remarkably large and attractive image. Rare.
