Golly Wobble Bottle. Pasadena: Custom Magic (Carl Williams), ca. 1998. Williams' faithful recreation of a Thayer rarity. The bottle with crudely-painted face will lay on its side for the magician, but not for anyone else ala the hoary Imp Bottle pocket trick, but utilizing a much larger bottle and different method of working. Height 6". With instructions. One of 12 manufactured by Williams.
Thayer's original was offered in his seventh catalog but found no buyers, so the originals were distributed to friends as gifts and consequently, only a handful have survived the intervening years. Williams recreated the effect – down to its clever method – as a tribute to Thayer's legendary (and in this case, unappreciated) craftsmanship.
